On December 12, 2024, at approximately 7:39 PM, a white 2000 Ford truck, belonging to The Harbor Church, was stolen from the church property. This incident was reported to the Friendswood Police Department on December 15th by a church staff member. Using video provided, investigators were able to identify a suspect vehicle related to the theft and track it to Northeast Houston.

Friendswood investigators located the vehicle with three occupants in the 4100 block of Navigation Blvd in Houston. After locating the suspect vehicle, officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle then lead officers on a pursuit before the three occupants fled from the vehicle on foot. The stolen Ford truck was located in close proximity to where officers located the suspect vehicle.

Officers were able to detain two of the three involved individuals at the scene. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted charges for Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle on Luis Valencia, 22, of Baytown. Valenica also had an outstanding Harris County warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Additional charges are pending for others involved in this incident.
