League City, TX (September 25, 2024):  League City Police Officers have arrested 62-year-old suspect, Charles McCoy, Jr. of League City. McCoy was arrested and charged with Murder ($150,000 Bond).

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at approximately 10:39 a.m., the League City Police Department received a request for assistance from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office with a Writ of Possession for a residence in the 100 block of Crescent Bay Dr. A GCSO Deputy Investigator requested assistance with evicting Charles McCoy and his 62-year-old wife, Susan McCoy, from the residence. 

Officers met with the Deputy Investigator outside of the residence, and they attempted contact at the front door. Nobody answered the door, and nothing was heard from within the residence. Officers entered the residence and located Susan on the floor of the master bedroom with apparent fatal injuries. She was confirmed deceased by League City Fire Department personnel. Charles was also located on the floor of the master bedroom with apparent self-inflicted injuries but was still alive. Officers began treating his injuries until LCFD personnel took over and transported him to a local hospital.

LCPD Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office accepted the charge of Murder ($150,000 Bond), and Charles was then placed in custody.
