Rhonda Bloskas began her career with the City of Friendswood in 2007 as the Accounting Manager. In October 2009, Rhonda was promoted to Deputy Director of Administrative Services – Accounting. Rhonda held this position until May of 2015 when she took some time off to spend with her family. In 2017, Rhonda was rehired as the Deputy Director of Administrative Services – Finance responsible for the Budget, Utility Billing, Accounting and served as the Deputy Investment Officer.
Rhonda was promoted to her current position, Director of Finance, in May 2024. She is now responsible for the Finance Department, which added Purchasing to her areas of responsibility as well as becoming the Investment Officer for the City. Under Rhonda’s leadership the City continues to earn the Distinguished Budget Presentation and Excellence in Financial Reporting Awards from the Government Finance Officers’ Association. Rhonda is actively involved in the Government Finance Officers’ Association of Texas and Gulf Coast Finance Officers’ Association.
Rhonda earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to coming to work for the City of Friendswood, she worked in public accounting as an auditor. She is both a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Government Finance Officer.
Rhonda and her husband, Ronnie, have been proud residents of Friendswood for 20 years raising 2 of their 5 children here. They have 5 grandkids and love spending time with their family, friends and vacationing in tropical destinations.
