On April 2, 2025, at approximately 10 PM, Friendswood officers were requested by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to assist with locating a suspect who had evaded on foot in the 16100 block of Affirmed Way. Officers arrived on scene and put the drone in flight to perform an aerial search of the area.
The officer operating the drone was able to locate the suspect and direct other responding officers to his location where the suspect was apprehended without incident.
The suspect, Kevin Newton, had an outstanding felony warrant and was taken into custody for Evading on Foot by HCSO.
