Suspects Arrested with Over 400 Bottles of Wine
On December 15, 2024, the Friendswood Police Department received a report of a wine theft that had occurred at the H-E-B in Friendswood on December 12, 2024. The loss prevention team provided video and information about the suspects involved in the theft which allowed officers to quickly identify the suspects involved and link them to other wine thefts in the area.
Friendswood Officers were able to track the individuals to the Katy area and provide the Katy Police Department with suspect and vehicle information. Katy Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle in the area and attempted to stop it. The vehicle then led Police on a pursuit. They were able to stop the vehicle and arrest two suspects. After the pursuit, Katy police located 498 bottles of wine that had been stolen from a variety of store locations.
Michael Diaz, 42, was charged with Theft and Juan Carlos Rosa-Torres, 42, was charged with Evading and Theft. Both suspects are currently awaiting further charges in the Fort Bend County jail. The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office has also issued a Theft warrant for Torres in relation to the Friendswood H-E-B incident.
